International Patients

International Patients

If you are travelling to us, the medicine is only part of it. Flights, transfers, where you stay and how you recover all have to work — so we plan them with you, before you book anything.

Overview

Coming to Estepona for treatment.

Patients travel to us from across Europe and beyond, most often for surgery or for a longevity assessment. What makes that work is not marketing. It is planning — and specifically, planning that happens before you book a flight rather than after.

Medical travel goes wrong in predictable ways: someone books a return flight for four days after surgery because the fare was good; someone arrives expecting a procedure that was never appropriate for them; someone flies home with no idea who to call when a wound looks wrong at eleven at night. None of these are medical failures. They are planning failures, and they are avoidable.

What you should have before you commit

  • A free first consultation with a doctor — online, if you are abroad
  • A clear answer on how many days you would need to be in Estepona
  • Your recovery plan agreed before you travel, not improvised after you land
  • What it costs, and what is and is not included, in writing
  • A named way to reach us once you are home

Why Estepona

Estepona sits on the Costa del Sol between Marbella and Gibraltar — Málaga International Airport is about 15 minutes from our Recovery Residences and around 45 minutes from Vogue Clinic in Estepona — in a climate that happens to suit recovery, and quiet enough that you are not recovering in the middle of a city. That is a genuine advantage. It is not, on its own, a medical reason to fly here, and we would not pretend otherwise.

Your journey

How your journey works.

Five stages, and you can stop after any of them. Nothing here commits you to the next step.

1

First contact

Write to us by email or WhatsApp and tell us what you are considering. We reply with what is realistic — including if the answer is that it is not worth the trip.

2

Consultation and plan

A free consultation with the relevant doctor, held online if you are abroad. You are told what each option involves and what it cannot do, and you receive a plan with the days you would need here.

3

Planning your trip

Once you decide to proceed, we coordinate dates around your treatment and your recovery — including accommodation and transfers if you would like us to handle them.

4

In Estepona

You are seen in clinic before your procedure, treated, and then followed through recovery on the days that actually matter — not just at a single discharge appointment.

5

After you go home

Your results are reviewed before you fly, and we stay reachable once you are back. If something concerns you at home, you contact us directly.

Getting here

Which airport, and when to book.

Most patients fly into Málaga Airport (AGP), by far the widest choice of routes and conveniently close to where you will be staying. Gibraltar (GIB) is another option and is sometimes the better choice from the UK.

  • Málaga (AGP) → Recovery Residences — approximately 15 minutes by car
  • Málaga (AGP) → Vogue Clinic, Estepona — approximately 45 minutes by car
  • Private transfer — we can arrange both directions; see Airport Transfer

Travel times

Málaga International Airport (AGP) is approximately 15 minutes from our Recovery Residences and approximately 45 minutes from Vogue Clinic in Estepona — so arrivals, the clinic and your recovery stay all sit within an easy reach.

The one mistake worth avoiding

Do not book flights until your treatment dates and recovery plan are confirmed with your doctor. It is the single most common error we see, it is the easiest to avoid, and it is expensive in exactly the way that makes people feel they have to fly home too early. A cheap fare that forces you onto a plane before your surgeon is happy is not a saving.

Flying after a procedure

When it is safe to fly depends on what you have had done — it is not a fixed number of days, and anyone quoting you one without knowing your procedure is guessing. Your surgeon tells you, and the answer is part of your plan before you commit to anything.

Where you stay

Accommodation.

Two private residences designed specifically for recovery rather than adapted for it, both within reach of the clinic. If you would prefer a hotel, or you are travelling with family, we can coordinate that instead.

How long

How long will you need to be here?

We are not going to publish a table of numbers, because the honest answer depends on your procedure, your body and how you heal — and a number on a website is precisely the kind of thing people build a non-refundable itinerary around.

What we will tell you is how the answer is arrived at, and you get your specific version of it at consultation, before you book anything:

  • Time before — you are seen in clinic before your procedure, not on the morning of it
  • Time after — enough days for your surgeon to review you on the days that actually matter for what you have had done
  • Clearance to fly — confirmed by your surgeon, based on your procedure and how you have healed
  • A margin — because bodies do not read schedules, and a plan with no slack in it is a plan that will hurt you

If your available time genuinely does not fit what a procedure needs, we will tell you that, and we would rather do it now than after you have paid for flights.

Costs

What it costs, and what is included.

Prices are confirmed at consultation, once your doctor knows what is actually appropriate for you. This is not evasiveness — quoting a price before knowing what you need is how people end up paying for the wrong procedure.

What you can expect from us on money:

  • Your first consultation is free, including online if you are abroad, with no obligation to proceed
  • You get it in writing — what is included, what is not, and what would cost extra
  • Travel, accommodation and services are separate and optional — you are never charged for concierge support you did not ask for
  • No pressure — no expiring quotes, no decisions on the day, no discount for signing now

Indicative pricing for many treatments is on our price list. Anything not listed, ask us.

Continuity

After you fly home.

This is the part of medical travel that is usually glossed over, and it is the part that matters most. A clinic that is excellent while you are in the building and unreachable afterwards has not actually looked after you.

Before you fly

Your results are reviewed in clinic before you travel. You leave with your recovery instructions, what to expect over the coming weeks, what is normal, and — importantly — what is not, so that you know what you are looking at.

Once you are home

  • You contact us directly. Not a form, not a general inbox — the team who treated you.
  • We work in English, Spanish and German, so you can describe a worry in your own language.
  • Where something needs to be seen in person, we tell you honestly whether that means being seen locally or coming back to us.

If something goes wrong

Complications are a real possibility with any procedure, and your doctor will go through the specific risks of yours with you before you consent to anything — not as a formality, but so that your decision is an informed one. What happens if one occurs, and what is and is not covered, is set out in writing before you proceed. Ask us about it directly; it is a fair question and you should get a straight answer, from us or from any clinic you are considering.

Follow-up consultation after returning home

Honestly

When we would tell you not to come.

Every clinic on this coast will tell you to come. So it is worth saying plainly when we would not.

  • When the trip is not worth it. Some treatments simply do not justify a flight. If you can have it done well near home, do that.
  • When the timing does not work. If your available days do not fit what the procedure needs, the answer is a different date — not a compressed recovery.
  • When it is not the right treatment. Sometimes what someone has come asking for is not what would help them, and occasionally the honest answer is that nothing would.
  • When surgery is not the right route. We will say so. It is not a sales technique; it is the reason to see a doctor rather than a brochure.

You are welcome to get a second opinion on anything we tell you. We would encourage it.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can I have my first consultation online?
Yes. If you are abroad, your free first consultation is normally held online with the relevant doctor. It is a real consultation, not a sales call.
How long will I need to stay in Estepona?
It depends entirely on the procedure and how you heal. You get a specific answer at consultation, before you book any travel — see how long you need.
Which airport should I fly into?
Málaga (AGP) is about an hour away and has the widest choice of flights. Gibraltar (GIB) is closer, around 45 minutes, and can suit some UK routes.
When should I book my flights?
Only once your treatment dates and recovery plan are confirmed with your doctor. This is the most common and most expensive mistake in medical travel.
When is it safe to fly after a procedure?
That depends on what you have had done — there is no universal number of days. Your surgeon tells you, and it forms part of your plan before you commit.
Do you speak my language?
Our team works in English, Spanish and German — including once you are home and want to describe a worry properly.
Can you arrange transfers and accommodation?
Yes. We can coordinate airport transfers and a stay in one of our recovery residences, or a hotel if you prefer. All of it is optional.
What does it cost, and what is included?
Prices are confirmed at consultation and given to you in writing, including what is not included. See costs.
What happens if I have a complication once I am home?
You contact us directly. Your doctor goes through the specific risks and what happens in that event before you consent, and what is covered is set out in writing beforehand.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, and for surgery we would encourage it. Tell us when we plan your stay so the accommodation fits.
Will you tell me if I should not travel?
Yes — and we do. See above: if the trip is not worth it or the timing does not work, we would rather say so now than after you have paid for flights.
